Volunteer Opportunities at Western Rockies FCU
As a Western Rockies Member, it is important for you to stay involved to help make sure our Credit Union is everything you want it to be. We are currently looking for member volunteers to get involved in two very crucial areas of the credit union.
Board of Directors
The Board at Western Rockies oversees operations and ensures that Western Rockies, as an organization, is moving in the right direction. Our board members provide oversight, set strategic direction and priorities, cultivate executive talent, among other important duties.
Board members meet once per month, during regular business hours. Western Rockies is currently looking for volunteers for our Board of Directors. Annually, credit union members elect volunteers from among the membership to represent them on the Board of Directors.
Board positions are volunteer, terms are three years and are staggered among the seven Board positions. Responsibilities include attending a monthly Board meeting in addition to several other functions throughout the year. Candidates must be 18 years of age and in good standing. The time commitment is during business hours.
The Supervisory Committee is responsible for ensuring that the Credit Union's Board of Directors and management establish practices and procedures to properly safeguard members' assets. In addition, the Committee is responsible for the annual financial statement audit from a licensed, independent auditor.
In accordance with the Federal Credit Union Act, the Supervisory Committee is comprised of volunteer members and functions completely independently of Credit Union management. As an independent body, the Supervisory Committee also investigates members' complaints not resolved to their satisfaction by management.
